ROCK SOUND Magazine Cover

In today's lesson we learned about magazines and audiences. All media exists to make money and magazines exist to deliver consumers to advertisers. As a group wee analysed the cover of 'Rock Sound' magazine and we found out the following:
Masthead: The title of the magazine was bold and had cracks to show how loud rock music is.
Strapline: The sub-heading of 'Trivium' is presented with a deadly font and the letters 'T' and 'M' are styled to look like a knife.
Main Cover Image: This showed a man posing aggressively with a guitar. He had an angry expression on his face, showing his tattoos. This illustrates the music of the magazine being deadly and gothic.
Graphic: The magazine also had a promotion of 3 posters included, attracting their target audience even more. Its target audience are punks, goths and emos.
